Stafford Education Foundation Welcomes Stephanie Johnson as Interim Executive Director

STAFFORD, VA —

The Stafford Education Foundation (SEF) proudly announces the appointment of Stephanie

Johnson as its Interim Executive Director. With a distinguished background in leadership and a

profound dedication to the Stafford community, Johnson transitions from her role as Board

President to lead SEF into its next chapter.

"We are thrilled that Stephanie has agreed to step into the Interim Executive Director role at this

exciting time for the Foundation," said Shaina Amaya, SEF Board President. "Stephanie brings

an unmatched passion for SEF's mission and a deep commitment to supporting students and

educators in Stafford County public schools. Her community leadership experience as a school

board member and founding board member of the Foundation makes her uniquely qualified to

lead us through this period of growth as we look to execute our new strategic plan. We are

excited to partner with her in the critical work ahead."

SEF’s mission is to engage our community to make a lasting impact on quality education by

bridging the gap between opportunities and access, allowing students to maximize their full

potential, and providing our educators with the resources they need.

Stafford County School Superintendent Thomas W. Taylor expressed his enthusiasm for

Johnson's appointment and the strong partnership between SEF and Stafford County Public

Schools: "Stafford Schools is pleased to work so closely with the Stafford Education Foundation

in their work to create a lasting impact on quality education. Mrs. Johnson has worked tirelessly

for the foundation for eight years and is a natural fit to fill this interim position. We look forward

to working with her in this new capacity and continuing to offer meaningful opportunities for

students and staff."

As both the Board President of Stafford Education Foundation and now as the Interim Executive

Director, Johnson expressed her commitment to the organization's mission:

"My commitment remains unwavering: to foster growth, expand our reach, and prioritize the

needs of teachers and students above all else. Together, we'll continue to innovate, empower,

and transform education in Stafford, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive."

SEF, a non-profit organization with an 18-year history, has been instrumental in securing grants

and raising funds for diverse educational initiatives. Since 2017, SEF has awarded more than

$80,000 to Stafford educators and $40,000 to students through its scholarship programs.

The SEF’s mission is to advance Stafford County Public Schools education through charitable

activities that support sound educational programs and practices. For more information or to
